Historical Context

World War II took place from 1939 - 1945, but the United States did not join in until the last few years of the war after Japan attacked Pearl Harbor. World War II veterans from the Mechanicville, New York area had their photographs taken by Charles Siciliano at his restaurant, Siciliano's located in Mechanicville. The time when the photographs were taken was between 1942-1945. Some of the servicemen were on leave or just out of boot camp.
