The Local History and Genealogy Department at the Onondaga County Public library is a nationally respected repository for genealogy research in Onondaga County and New York State. This special collection is over a hundred years old and specializes in history and genealogy for not only New York but includes resources for the New England States, Pennsylvania and New Jersey.

Onondaga County Public Library - Central Library is a member of the Central New York Library Resources Council.
